The HTC S710 a.k.a. the Vox has not even been released and HTC is busy developing the next generation of the Vox. Back in December of 2006 we did hear about the HTC Wings in a report from hpc.ru, but the specifications were not clear. Now, PDAdb.net has revealed the specifications for this model which slated for July 2007 release. 8O This product which can pose a serious threat to HTC's own product, the Vox, is supposed to have support for 3G, built-in GPS, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 and a 400Mhz Samsung processor. Let's hope that all the information in the article is accurate and that we see this product in the market soon.

I am sure our readers who were anxiously waiting for the Vox will now be eagerly waiting for the Wings announcements. I know I am. Wish we get to see the live photos of this awesome unit soon. And in the meantime let's guess where HTC put the joy pad on this Windows Mobile 6 Standard device? :?

I bet Cingular would classify this smartphone as a PDA too...
Why do they always have to Photoshop screens on so badly? :p
It seems like most of the specs are correct, except maybe the weight and the release date. 110 g with the predecessor clocking in at 140 g seems a little off, but we can always hope, I guess :)
PDAdb.net often seems to be a bit off regarding release dates, so I think we should be really lucky to see this out by July 2007. I would not expect it before Q4, but again, I guess we can always hope :)
HSDPA should be in there too, btw. You forgot to mention that.

3G? Now we're talking!
Did everyone hear that? It was the sound of me skipping the Vox and waiting for the Wings!

What? No D-Pad?
I'm sure it will have one when it comes out. I think the Smartphone specs require a D-pad. Also, the first pix of the Vox didn't have a D-pad, either.

hmmm where is the dpad? i suspect that htc will delay this until the vox has been selling for atleast 6 months.

According to PDAdb.net, the unit does have a D-pad and also a scroll wheel. :? Will have to wait for the first live pictures to confirm these.
"Directional Pad: 5 -way block
Jog / Scroll Wheel: Pressable rotary scroll wheel"
The inclusion of Wi-Fi worries me; Cingular would not like it and T-Mobile will not take it because of 3G. I can see the Vox being taken up by T-Mobile; perfect fit - it has Wi-Fi and vanilla GSM/EDGE functionality. The Wings would have been perfect for Cingular had it not been for the Wi-Fi. Eagerly waiting for more news.
I am really excited about the GPS sensor. 8)

They could always request it to be removed or disable it in the ROM.

this looks like the HTC Trinity in Smartphone form with a keyboard. if the specs are spot on (3G, 400mz processor, wifi, etc.) I may trade my Trinity for this. another nice looking HTC device it is!!!

This is retarded. why HTC continues to cannibalize their current market by always showing "what's coming up" is beyond me. They must be really freaked out by apple and think tech specs is enough to win.. hahah..

HTC needs to keep their secrets better.
