Then we showed you the real phone here remember. Ever since leaking the first photo of the phone online the Vox has truly interested me. A smartphone with a screen that flips from portrait to landscape, courtesy of Windows Mobile 6 Standard, and a slide out, spring-assisted keyboard complete with great speakers can't go wrong. Well, our first impressions agree! HTC is really leading the pack right now shutting down any kind of competition while making really quality constructed and well thought products."</i> <br /><br /> <img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Temporale-20070226-HtcVox.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />The Boy Genius has posted some pictures showing off the unboxing of the HTC Vox Smartphone. Unfortunately there are no pictures showing the thickness of the device. I hope it's not like the Wizard. I'm not the biggest fan of this device due to the lack of 3G. However, if it's as thin as the Dash or close to it, then I might be willing to reconsider. The Boy Genius also reports that the camera is surprisingly good. No pictures posted yet, but they should be up soon. Availability looks to be late March!

If you want a thorough review of the phone with lots of pictures, Mobile-Review has one posted.

You may want to post this on the homepage.

Yeah great review! Now if only it were slightly thinner...

Anything with a slide-out keyboard like that is always going to be a little on the chunky side...so that's why I tend not to be much of a fan of devices like that. The Dash really spoilt me in terms of thinness - it's just awesome and easy to fit into any pocket.

Wow...kinda like it. Looks to be comparable in size to my SDA. It will be interesting to see all these new device come to market in the next few months.

I keep telling you folks that the Vox is not bulky. (http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13480) :( Pleas don't call my Vox bulky. It is perfect.

I am surprised that no one seems to be interested in snapping a picture of Vox with the Q/Blackjack/Dash side by side. :? Someone please send me a review unit, I will do that.

I think we're all wanting a thickness comparison but for some reason none of the reviews I've seen has done that... :?

I must say that since I abandoned my SP5, the VOX is the first Smart (ooops sorry standard) phone that has tempted me to come back.

I think the form factor would work really well for me.

Actually, that's not the Excalibur, that's the Cavalier - the next version of the Excalibur with 3G.

Doh! I meant the successor to the Dash.
