This is the best way I have found to manage and save important SMS messages on your devices. There is a trial version and it is only 19.95USD. Well worth the price in my opinion.

Ah, perfect timing. Now to find out if the Plaxo toolbar works with Vista.

Oh, and I assume that since its a .x release, it's a free upgrade for current users. Is this correct?

I hope so, I haven't tried it yet cause I'm still dual booting XP and Vista.

I think I'll stay with Joopz.com instead. It's free, allows me to group chat and schedule reminders (which Outlook doesn't do).

:bad-words:
#1) It insists on installing itself to C:\Jeyo\JME_WM rather than a more appropriate location such as C:\Program Files\Jeyo\...
#2) When installed to a more appropriate location, it complains that it cannot find the pst which it is looking for in a folder called My SMS, which it creates in your My Documents folder when installed to its preferred location
#3) pst files should never be in any kind of document folder, unless that folder is a subfolder of the documents folder that is dedicated to backups. But even that's a stretch, imo.

Are these all new issues, or where they there before and perhaps you didn't notice them? It seems odd that these types of things would show up at this late stage in the products life.

This is new behavior. I had this on XP and none of this was a problem. I was able to change the location of the data file in this version however.

One of my friends really needs an app like this, thanks for the info.

And it gets worse from here . I got it to not complain about the pst location by copying the file to where it wants it. But now it complains that it is an unregisteted version and that I have zero days left to register. Annnnd, none of the buttons or menu commands actually do anything, not even let me register the da?n thing! :bad-words:

Oh, and check out their bug reporting page (http://www.jeyo.com/bug.asp) in Firefox. I especially like the Device and PC operating system dropdowns. They work in IE, but they don't have Vista or Outlook 2007 listed on that page.

And the result of submitting the form in Firefox?
Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3'
Server.CreateObject Failed
/functions.asp, line 20
800401f3

Something else interesting... I installed the new version, taking all the defaults this time, and it doesn't like the registration code that I have for the earlier .x version. And when you click the Register Online... button, it takes you to a page, in Internet Explorer, to buy the full version.
There's an awful lot of inelegant code in this version, I think.

After a few days of trying to use this I have to conclude it is junk. What used to be a pretty functional application is now rubbish. The details are boring but from what I have seen here and in their forums, you have about a 30% chance of getting it to work either on Vista or XP. I had no luck with either.

It's shocking that they can mess up an version upgrade like this. :(

It is so messed up it seems like they didn't even test it out on anything but the one machine in their garage. It is a shame because the older version worked quite well.

Update: I managed to get it working on Vista, I still get a couple of Access Violations but it will still work. Here is an email I got from them:
"If you've got the windows mobile version up and running on your Vista machine I'd recommend you try temporarily deactivating the Vista firewall -- this can often block the JME connection. Also if you've previously been using JME 2.0 on your mobile device you should delete the SMSExpress.exe file from the Windows folder on your handset and reboot it before attempting to reconnect."
I must have missed these little tidbits somehow. Sloppy work is all I can say.
