I'm sure it has to do with the fact that I spent so long working in the cellular world. One of the first things you are taught is that water and phones do not go well together. Personally, I'm surprised that there are not more waterproof phones on the market, especially since a large majority of insurance claims on handsets are due to water damage! :(
