It surely covers every little corner that makes a phone true piece of communication tool with WM5 you cannot go wrong on compatibility and expendability. Motorola or Nokia users may have difficulty adjusting to the operating system, but once you get the hang of it, is very handy. Price and limitation of thinness might be the only downsides of this phone. I would not pay more than I paid for my SDA, but I would have hard time deciding on which one to get if they were at same price."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/augusto-20070130-spl.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><br />This is one thin, sleek and sexy handset. I'm surprised at how much this phone actually looks like the Motorola SLVR. At first glance, I thought they are reviewing <i>two</i> i-mate SPL devices! The only downside is the camera appears to be on par, if not worse, than the standard HTC camera. :(

wow - seeing the two beside each other and you're right, it's easy to get confused. I'm surprised that Moto hasn't said anything about this. If RIM is upset about the BlackJack, why wouldn't Moto be upset about this?

Rim is not upset with the BackJack design, just the name me'thinks.

Possible. I'm no patent lawyer, so what do I know.

When two of my coworkers saw my BlackJack on my desk they both ask the same question - is that your new Blackberry? When I told them it was a Blackjack they both laughed out loud.

From this observation I think RIM has some ground on their complaint. Now why wouldn't Moto sue the hack out of HTC is beyond me. Everytime I look at the SPL I think of the SLVR. They are like identical twins separated at birth.

Right, it was TechFaith Wireless.

Right, it was TechFaith Wireless.

It's my understanding that TFW is just a design firm - they don't actually manufacture anything. At least that's my understanding.

The power adapter had the Techfaith Wireless on it.

EDIT: And the name of Mitsumi Electric. :?

Blackberrys have just become a generic name! They have come to describe a whole generation of phone that it spawned...I just got my new Blackjack from http://www.1800mobiles.com/samsung-blackjack-cingular-cell-phone-review.html
Its damn neat! And I am a bit of a newcomer to the world of super advanced phones..so I keep discovering new little things about these gadgets and keep getting small bouts of joy!! hehe...

Cheers!
