It's loaded with features including things like call display - on the home screen, RSS, Time, Weather, Calendar, SMS and so much more. Best of all, it's free with the option to buy if you want some of the extra features. I'll be downloading this as soon as they have a stable BlackJack version. 8)

Looks beautiful, but I uninstalled it after playing with if for about an hour.
It seems very buggy on my Moto Q. It locked up my device quite a few times, and I couldn't get it to open up any rss feeds.

This little program displays a lot of information and displays it very nicely, but they need to add a screen where you can access shortcuts to your most used programs. I will wait for further development before trying this one out again. Also, it would make a lot more sense to have a fully functional trial that's time limited for all features before going to the limitations of the freeware.

can I instal this on my sd card and will this work on the dash?

I installed it on my Dash (main memory, not the card) -- didn't work. Installed okay, but when I launch it, I just get a black screen.

Anyone get it to work on a Dash??

1. are you using Facade or Paprus
2. did you instal to main memory or the card
3. did you use the cab or exe to install.

thanks T

I have Facade installed and was just wondering if that might be the problem...
(I installed the .cab from the memory card to the main memory)

Using the T-Mobile Dash with .Net installed to main memory (dunno if this requires .Net).

1. I have Facade, Pocket Informant Smartphone (aka Papyrus), and AgendaOne installed.
2. Main Memory.
3. Exe.

I installed this onto my Dash, onto main memory, and it works great. I have Facade installed, as well, and it's played nicely with that app. I installed the OTA cab.

It doesn't take the place of your home screen, although there is an option for that. You can just bring it up whenever you want through your task switcher (in my case, xBar).

I too uninstalled it a few hours after installing. It worked fine and looks pretty, but I already have almost all it's functions from other apps I've purchased and can access easily from the home screen. The freeware version is too limited and the app is not cheap to unlock. No program access from the home screen is a negative for me, as well.

the app unlock was the key. yea it is working. now does anyone know what the action button is? thanks for those that added advice for getting this up and running for me.

The action button is the center button on the directional pad. Or, if you have a scroll wheel that also pushes in, like on the Moto Q, that also works as an action button.

I couldn't get the program to work with the action button on my Q. I downloaded an RSS feed from within the interface and it wouldn't open it with the action button.

I don't think so but not 100% sure. If this was the requirement, developer would have mentioned something. What part of the program is not working? Can you install it without any error messages and once installed can't launch it? I am sure someone will have an answer if you could elaborate the issue.
Because if you can't install it then you have to app unlock the phone.
Thanks

Same here. Funny thing is if you select another RSS feed, then it will ask you if you want to download the latest news and it works. Kinda weird :rock on dude!:

Whats the difference from the registered version and basic??

The freeware version only allows you to use the main screen for information. If you pay the (IMHO) rather hefty price tag for the registration code, you can use the other screens that are accessible by moving the D-pad to the left or right.
For example - if you had the registered version you would be able to use the weather screen that would show much more information than is displayed on the main screen. Same thing goes for the RSS page, the call history, and SMS history pages.

Rant Mode On:
Although it is nice that they offer a freeware version that is limited to using the main screen. I can't stand it when developers don't offer a fully functional trial. I know it would have been a little more coding, but in my mind all software trials should be fully function for a certain time period (preferrably 15-30 days) after which the program locks out some of the nicer features. I'm no marketing guru, but in a market where there is little chance for someone to try your product out and return it if they don't like it, developers have to rely heavily on reviews and word of mouth on forums such as this. It would seem to me that by offering a fully functioning program for a 30 day period would spur more people to purchase your product after their trial version locked out some of the useful features that they now have grown attached to.

I do get the error message: "may not appear properly on your device", which I've gotten for other programs in the past (they run just fine). I get the black screen, with nothing on it.

Sosha,
I am sorry that youa re having trouble viewing the screen. Since you are able to install it that means your ph is app unlocked (which most of the BJs are). Have you installed in the main mem or Mem card. Try to uninstall it. If ou are familiar with editing the registry then go ahead get rid of all the entries for smartvista and re-install the program in the main memory. Do you see the Smartvista icon under the programs?. Developer has just uploaded 1.2 versio on his site, try downloading that..may be that will work better. I am attaching the screen shots and you can see it's working fine on my BJ???
Wish I could help any better. Good Luck!

@UOTE FROM THE WEBSITE:
Upgrading:

Some good news for Smartphone Blackjack users:
customer who bought this device from Cingular store,
reported me that the latest version works fine in Blackjack,
ROM: 5.1.342 Build 15100.3.0.2
And I got similar reports from others. I'm still working to fix problems in other hardware versions.

TRYING IT ON THE BJ NOW!!! 8)

No go. When I execute the file, it blinks and then goes back to the previous menu I was on. Am I not doing something right?

I know its an OLD phone now a days, but this program is working on my 2125. Although, things are a bit crunched together since my phone display isn't as wide as say the dash.

Nice little application though. A nice change.

I really wanted to like this, but I uninstalled it after a couple of hours. It seems a bit buggy....it affected the sensitivity of my touchstrip (which I've hacked to its original function).

But even if it wasn't buggy, there are two deal-breakers for me:

1. It's designed, in theory, to be a home screen replacement....so why make it a free-standing app?? My DASH (as well as my old SDA and my even older SP3) will, after a certain amount of inactivity, go back to the home screen. So every time I want to use it I have to restart it...?

2. If it's going to replace my home screen, it needs to have access to all the same stuff. Click an appt, open the calendar. Click a messaging icon, open the messages.

sorry...it's pretty but poorly implemented, IMHO.

This thing is a beautiful looking product, but it has been banned from my Blackjack because:

1. IT ISSSSS SLLOOOOWWWW. I mean to the point of taking 1-2 seconds per screen slide and then just locking up for 10 seconds or more after switching screens

2. Drains batteries faster than a full speed 3G session. I had NEVER heard the low battery lady's voice since I bought this last fall...until the first day I ran Smartphone Vista; then it dropped to half battery in 6-7 hours and audio warning in 10-12 hours; and I don't even live in a 3G area.

3. Not for the "over-40" generation without GOOD bifocals. The print is so tiny and highlighting of selected text washes out even the faint text (this is not the developers fault, per se, I know it's my lame eyesight, but there should be an option to increase font size)

4. If you chose to block the regular system incoming call pop-up (so SV handles the pop-up message for the incoming call), the phone can lock up and you cannot answer the call (without even seeing who's calling)

Now, I'll be the first to admit these could be conflicts with any of a dozen programs I am using, so take this with a grain of salt, because I don't have time to do a clean install as if I were beta testing. Otherwise, this is an awesome design and has great potential - just not yet ready for prime time.

Rant Mode Off:

That's why I ended up buying the full version after a few hours of looking at the pretty opening screen, and then all the problems I noted above started to develop. A fully functional 15 day trial is a must for something as full featured as this software - so you'll know if it works with YOUR configuration.
