View Full Version : Anyone got PDANet working on a Dash?

I installed the latest PDANet (1.72) on my Dash, but I can't get it to work at all. Every time I try to connect, it tells me the "modem is busy" and to try again later.

I checked Google and there are a number of people who said this happens to them when they try to connect a second time after a successful first connect. But I can't even get a first connect.

I've rebooted the Dash, many times.

Neither USB nor Bluetooth connection to the device works.

I emailed June Fabrics a few days ago, but so far no response.

I have used PDANet succesfully on a Treo 700w before, so this seems to be something unique to the Dash.

(My ultimate end goal here is to add a Bluetooth DUN profile to the Dash. I can't believe it doesn't have one.)

did you download the Smartphone version? It's just a guess, but if you try and use the Pocket PC version, it might not work correctly. I haven't used the app and I don't have a dash to try it on. But I would make sure you have Smartphone version of the app.

Here's the app link in case anyone is interested: http://software.smartphonethoughts.com/product.asp?id=6980

Hmm, I downloaded directly from their site, and it only has one version for Windows Mobile:

Unfortunately, I just got an email back from them saying that the Dash is unsupported. :(

Well now, that sucks. Did they mention anything about adding support for it?

Nope, just said it was unsupported, and that you can tether to a Dash without PDANet. Which is true for Windows users, but unfortunately isn't true in my case, because I need to tether to devices that don't support PAN, only DUN.
