The CNET video shows how the new touch screen technology can improve the user experience. I wonder if this is the same technology that is in use on the Apple iPhone? Regardless, it looks like the touch screens are going to be back in style because of the new stylus, our fingers. I think I will have to review my anti-touch-screen stance. ;-)

Interestingly, this touch screen can recognize when it is being held against the cheek, and it can be used to turn the screen off. It can even recognize a kiss on the touch screen. 8O

Read about it over here. (http://www.synaptics.com/products/pdf/onyx_concept.pdf)

Now THAT's beautiful ;-) Even better than the iPhone.

The only thing is that it would probably have a propietary OS since I don't see MacOS or WinXP/PPC/Smartphone doing that...

You really shouldn't be kissing your phone...

Given our infatuation and affection for the gadgets I wonder why we aren't kissing our gadgets. :?

For the folks who haven't read the details on the Onyx, the touch screen can recognize the kiss and transmit it as an emoticon. Since there is no plastic keypad (I love the term plastic keypad, thanks to Mr. Jobs), typing out the four letters k-i-s-s can be a brutal experience but the touch pattern recognition can recognize the kiss and translate that to words or emoticon.

Kissing...I've been to second base with my phone. Wondering if I should go all the way...since I know I'll be getting a new phone soon.
