<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://benhirashima.com/software/' target='_blank'>http://benhirashima.com/software/</a><br /><br /></div><i>"TxtMan is a threaded SMS program for Windows Mobile 5.0. It sends and receives text messages (SMS) and displays the messages as a conversation, like an instant messenger client. TxtMan requires the .NET Compact Framework 2.0 to be installed on your phone in order to run. It's free, and many other Windows Mobile programs require it, so it's a good thing to have."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/augusto-20061228-txtman.gif" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><br />This looks really neat. I'm a bit disappointed that it requires Microsoft's .Net Compact Framework 2.0 as the program is so huge. The good new is, you can now <a href="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11755">install the .NET Framework to your storage card</a>. :)

Isn't .Net CF 2 pre-installed on the BlackJack? I thought it was. Any AKU 3 device should have .NET CF2 on it.

Thats what I thought, but I recently had to install it on my device because I program I wanted to use needed it. Lets just say, I was a tad bit annoyed

yeah, it looks like a great program. i was thinking about giving it a spin this weekend but no one sends me txt messages anymore since they figured out i had push email and i would not be able to use the excuse oh "text message? i didnt get a text message, you should call customer support and complain"

You should be aware that this (and other programs using the Web browser part of .NET CF, like Map4PDA (http://www.map4q.com)) break when using the Motorola Q MOL2 software update due to some strange interaction with the iTap DLL.

If you use this program on the Q and plan to update to MOL2, make a backup of the iTAP6IME.dll file. Using the older one from MOL1 seems to work fine, although you will lose some benefits of MOL2 (the one I've read about is that you'll still have to hit the ALT key twice to unlock the Q if you use the older DLL).

Cool app. Has anyone tried it on a WM 5.0 Phone Edition?
