Now there is a Smartphone version. There are lots of skins available for it as well. It apparently also works on the wide screen devices like the Q and BlackJack.

Yes, I can attest to this app working well on wide screen devices (320 x 240). This app is at the top of my "must have" list for SmartPhones.

I have had some issues on my Blackjack which I have posted on their website. This is only v 1.0.

I know Bruce is working on some bugs and getting ready to release a new version soon.

There are some new widescreen skins posted in the forum that can be downloaded.

Yes - I created this and a couple of other skins specifically for landscape oriented smartphones. This skin is called BlueBasic Alt. There is also a black varient. All are available on the pA SP skin forum.

I've used this on my PPCPE and enjoyed it. One thing I would like, however, is to have it run in the background such that it has full profile functionality without the Today/Home screen plugin being active.

Another nice feature would be to have the renamed profiles show up in the plug-in. As it is they are renamed in the menu but are fixed in the plug-in display.

I noticed it doesn't install an icon on the Start Menu. How do you configure it if you don't use the Home Screen plugin?

I don't think it is functional if it isn't on the home screen anyway.

You should have a sample home screen with the plugin already on it available in your list of home screens. If you want to use it in any other home screen you will need to copy the plugin code to the XML file of that particular screen.

FYI, the app. doesn't show up among the display options on the Blackjack.

It shows up as a a home screen choice. "phoneAlarm skin" is all you will see.

I've been using pA SP since the first prototype and can say Bruce has done a nice job.
To the poster asking about the profile names, you can change them--they are images. You have to create images with the text you want.
Regarding the settings program, I created a link to pAsettings.exe and put it in my Start Menu. That way I don't need the button on scren.

I would like for it to be easier too! I posted a feature request not too long ago asking for an option in the tags to specify text strings OR images. Bruce acknowledged the request but was a bit hesitant about the complexity it might add to the product. Maybe we'll see it in a future update...

There is one more issue that has always bugged me. I know it is out of the developers hands but maybe a future Windows Mobile OS will solve it. When profiles are changed with phoneAlarm the system icons do not match. For instance if I set up a vibrating profile, I'll just get the crossed out speaker icon. I never see the "vibrate" system icon.

If I sound like I am complaining about the application I am not. As I said I have used it for a long time on my PPC devices and really appreciate it. :)

In the SP version (on my Q) my icon always matches the profile. If I set vibrate in pA, I get the vibrate system icon. Likewise for silent. :)

You are the first that I have seen to report that. I don't have a Q anymore. On the BlackJack or 3125 that is not the case. :(

I had mentioned this to them on their forum or an email. Can't remember which. That is where I was told it was an OS "feature".
