How to change Device Name on Smartphone?

On my Pocket PC (WM2005) if I go into Settings>System>About>Device ID, I could change the Device Name to anything I want.

But on Smartphone, Activesync seems to automatically assign a stupid device name called new_(Windows XP userID) to my device. How do I overwrite it?! is it possible to even overwrite it?

By the way, I have a Motorola Q.

It has to be done in the device registry. Tweaks2k2 is an easy way to do this.

If you get a registry editor and feel froggy
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Ident\Name
