How to Turn off text messages?

Is there any way to stop recieving text messages on my Imate Smartflip? I dont use this feature and continue to get annoying spam messages.

I think only the service provider can do that.

I believe Cingular allows you to opt out for $0.00.

Yeah, I don't think there's any configuration on the device for SMS. So it would need to be done by your carrier.
