hey everyone, I'm having some trouble, I can't use the internet while I'm connected via USB on my PC.. I put internet: via pass through, and gprs, but nothing works while I'm connected (GPRS works fine while I'm not connected via USB)... any ideas how I can resolve this? Thanks.

I forgot now, but did you say on the other thread there was a proxy server set up in your GPRS settings someplace?

yup, there is a proxy because its needed for the WAP.. even before I had the proxy it wouldn't connect to the internet via USB

remove the proxy setting - I don't think I have one setup on my device

Oh, and under GPRS settings, you should have one created for Fido and it should have the following:

Connects To The Internet
Access Point - internet.fido.ca
UserName - fido
password - fido
Primary DNS - 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS - 0.0.0.0
IP Address -

GPRS:
Connects to: The Internet
Access Point: wap.fido.ca
User/Pass: fido
Primary DNS: 204.92.15.211

Proxy:
Connects From: The INternet
Connects to: WAP Network
Proxy: 205.151.011.011
Type: WAP
User/Pass: fido

WAP Browser Samsung i320n:
Check Proxy
IP Addresss:
205.151.11.11
Port: 8080
Bearer: GPRS
Advanced Settings > just use user

ya i got the GPRS working fine, but for the WAP browser I think you need the proxy. If you go to options > Settings for connections in the WAP browser you must select a proxy I believe thats why its there.. hmm :S

again, everything works fine when I'm not connected to the PC.

I'm not using the WAP browser. Not that I think this is related to the passthrough connection, but I would use Internet.fido.ca instead of WAP.fido.ca I think they actually direct traffic differently. However, I can't be sure.

thoughts on your pass-through issue;

From your desktop, click connection settings in Active Sync and check that this computer connects to "The Internet" is set.

There's another setting someplace... I just can't seem to locate it now.

thanks - yeah that is set to INternet (This Computer Connects to: "THE INTERNET") in ActiveSync - pretty weird, passthrough worked fine on my SMT 5600 ...
