There are a couple other programs that offer this functionality on the market already, but I've had some hit and miss luck with them. It will be interesting to see how well Orneta's version will be. I'm installing a copy now and I'll let you know how I make out. If anyone else does the same, please share your experiences.

I'll check this out, but VitoCopyPaste (freeware just released) allows you to copy/paste anywhere you can edit, including 3rd party apps.

I tried to install this an after the screen asking if I wanted on the device or storage card (I always put stuff on the card, no memory on my SmartFlip), the install failed. Has anyone run into this?/

Also, I tried the Vito software and it failed as well, atleast I couldn't get it ot work.

Yup.

Nope. It doesn't activate when you press and hold the joystick. It integrates into the right softkey menu.

Can you use it on the internet?

Like in the address bar? No. There's no way to activate it.

Does it work when setting up an email account to copy and paste the incoming IP address into the outgoing?

Oh, that would be a dream! Unfortunately, no. There's no softkey menu to integrate into.

I don't have PI, but I'm guessing no, since it would be a lot harder to integrate into various different application menu's.

There is mixed reaction to Vito's application. For some it works great, and for others, it doesn't work at all. Vito's application is the same as xbar in that you have to press and hold the joystick in. Where this application integrates into the right softkey menu.

It loads on my storage card without any issues. You might want to try a reboot of your phone and then install. Windows Mobile 5 has some issues around installing and removing applications. :roll:

Mike I rebooted and tried re-installing, this time by downloading the cab directly. I get the following error message:

Installation was unsuccessful. The program or settin cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions.

Any ideas, looks like one of those wonderfully helpful MS error messages for all occasions :twisted:

What device do you have? It could be a level of application lock.

Yes, I was one of the people who couldn't get it to work. You have to application-unlock your phone first. I had CID unlocked a phone and altered some security reg entries and thought by mistake that my phone was app-unlocked. I ran SDA Application Unlock and suddenly both Vito CopyPaste and MS Voice Command starting working on my 3125.

Have you used an registry editor to change the security policies on your phone?

Yes, I was one of the people who couldn't get it to work. You have to application-unlock your phone first.

I wish the solution was that easy for me. My phone is application unlocked and has been for a while. I'm glad that solved it for you, but it seems like there is something else wrong as well. :(

I have an iMate SmartFlip, it's "carrier" unlocked, I don't know about application unlocked. I have been able to install other stuff, but both of the cut/paste apps don't work?

Carrier lock is a different thing all together. ;) So, it works like this, your device is applicaiton unlocked, but not 100%. Check out this post (http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9616) for more info on how to unlock the rest of hte way.
