I just purchased a Cingular 2125 and I figured out how to put my ringtones in the "sound" folder on my phone but it will only allow me to put about 3 ringtones in (custom ones that I created, approx 300-400 KBtes). Is there a way to make the tones work for my contacts from the miniSD card instead of having them on my phone. Thanks in advance.

I thought you could put them in the root of the storage card? I don't have many extra ringtones, and the ones I do use are very small. So the sounds folder works just fine for me.

Where do I put them? What folder? I'm not sure what putting them in the root means. I apologize, but I have been trying to figure it out, there's got to be a way someone did it on here. Thanks.

I've only put a few on my 2125 in the sound folder as well. What kind of files are they?

I took regular MP3s and cut them using "gold wave". I cut them down to about 10-15 secs each and saved them as wma files and put them in my sounds folder, but I can only put about 4 in there without it getting full.

What kind of error message do you get?

gotta save them in wav format. i usually edit my ringtones in such a way that it doesn't exceen 1MB each (you don't really listen to the whole song when your phone is ringing... lord knows my girlfriend will wring my neck for that... ^_^). also, you may want to edit the audio file such that you can cut some of the bass frequencies in your ringtone to elongate the life of your smartphone speaker. at any rate, you should be saving them in \Application Data\Sounds . you can also try using rjvtonesetter (freeware) - no brainer cool app for your tones. there are regedits where you can change the default location of your tones, such that it will be on your storage card, but that is a different topic ^_^ hope this helps ^_^
