The specs on the quad-band Pearl look to be in place and has that tweaked appearance, and the i607 pictured retains the i600's front-facing camera, as well as quad-band GSM / GSRS / EDGE / HSDPA data, and Bluetooth; of course, we knew the Pearl was headed to Cingular, but the Blackjack will make a nice little addition to the cadre of Q-killers making their way to the states.</i>"<br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/augusto-20060910-sami607.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><br />It looks as if Cingular has a little bit of 3G magic under their sleeves. Unfortunately for us, I doubt we would see this phone before 2007. Right now, we're still waiting to get our hands on the Cingular 3125 and from what our insider source has told us, it should be the last Windows Mobile Smartphone delivered on the network this year. Then again, last time we talked to that same source they mentioned that Cingular wasn't having the best of luck with the StrTrk's software and the launch may be delayed again! Who knows, maybe we will see this device sooner then we thought! :)

OK then, I thought the blackjack morphed into the SGH-i610 that was just posted recently.

What's the difference?

Not sure, but usually minor numerical differences are used to represent small differences - like with or without camera.

That goes to engadget, but the links to the design site now display blank pages.

I think he refers to the design site.

Oh that link, well chances are those pages got pulled down once they discovered that they where live when they shouldn't be.

I saw the original developer pages before they were pulled, so the reporting is legit. However, is the info "good" is anyone's guess - look how long ago the CIngualr 3125 showed up on the rebate form, which expires in 12 days, but still no phone.

my guess would be that this is a new site that they are developing. They may very well be using dates based on original expectations, or some arbitrary dates for testing purposes. As much as I am eagerly anticipating and awaiting this phone, my guess would be Q1 at earliest (altho i'm hoping like heck i have NO idea what i'm talking about and we'll see it before thanksgiving)!!

the dates on the roadmap are usually always estimated guesses. if the phone doesn't come up to par in testing, it will usually get held back. it is amusing actually, cingular usually releases phones so late that by the time they are out, we're all excitied about other phones. t-mobile is just as bad :)
