The service integrates with many of the applications on both Smartphone and Pocket PC devices, including contacts, tasks, inbox and calendar. Data and email are synchronized between these applications and Yahoo's online services, providing both backup of phone content as well as a way to access Yahoo! services. Go for Mobile also includes Yahoo! Messenger, Photos and links to local services. The Go for Mobile suite was first launched for S60 earlier this year.</i>"<br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/augusto-20060831-yahoogo.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><br />This looks neat! I really like the idea of being able to take a picture and have it save online automatically, though I don't agree with people playing around with their phones while driving. Good thing this feature is not included in the Windows Mobile version, since we know better ;)

"Data and email are synchronized between these applications and Yahoo's online services, providing both backup of phone content as well as a way to access Yahoo! services."

Is this in a way like an Exchange server? Another words, when I add an appt, contact, or email, does it automatically sync with my Yahoo account? Cool if it does!

I downloaded the software to my SDA. Some things I noticed:

1. You have to install on the phone's memory. This program is a memory hog.

2. When I synced with Yahoo, I got a bunch of garbage in at the beginning of my contacts. This naturally transferred over to my desktop via ActiveSync so I had to go through and delete all of the stuff.

3. I am also beta testing Trend Micro's Mobile Security 3.0 and noticed that with the two running at the same time my phone went to a dead crawl.

4. The interface was very nicely laid out.

Since I don't use Yahoo that much, I ended up deleting it off the phone.

that is not good. has anyone else had this problem? if so we should send an email or two over to yahoo! so they are aware of the issue. sorry you had to go through that!

This program is definitely not for me. I installed it but it won't let me do it to a memory card. It is a big memory hog and it basically just takes you to the web. Most of what I clicked on I already had bookmarked in explorer. I uninstalled it within 15 minutes.

I'm a pretty heavy user of Yahoo and so have this installed on my SP5m.

My observations based on maybe four of use are that it's a memory hog and can only be installed in the phone's memory, not storage card. When I selected sync contacts it ended up creating triple entries on about a dozen of my 400 contacts. As for email it's great. Much like Exchange in that everything is kept up to date; web, phone and Outlook if I Activesync the phone. I do notice that I can not access any of the other POP accounts on the phone after installing this. Finally I've noticed some buggy behavior and the phone will crawl at some points while this app is running in the background.

I really like the idea but it doesn't appear ready for primetime for us WM Smartphone users. This will probably be removed in the near future.

8O Eek! Not a solid experience for anyone here. That's not a good sign. Bad Yahoo, Bad!

Shortly after my last post I removed Yahoo Go...well I tried. Turns out uninstalling was as problematic as installing and using it. Once uninstalled none of my connection would work. Pass thru caused error messages as did EDGE/GPRS. As well a phantom entry on the homescreen for the four unread messages in the deleted Yahoo account remained and yet couldn't be accessed.

After much screwing around trying to fix things I had just gotten to the point where I was planning a hard reset when I stumbled upon some proxy setting that Yahoo Go must have altered. After playing with these a bit I got all connectivity back. Woo hoo.

Unfortunately the homescreen phantom email account is still showing and it appears there remains quite a bit of instability withing the messaging portion of the phones software. I suspect I'll end up having to do a hard reset when it's convenient for me.

Bottom line based on my experience, don't go near this with a ten foot pole!

I posted earlier my problems with this program. After deleting it from my SDA I am still having a problem. My phone is still trying to run the Yahoo Updater program that was installed with the Yahoo.GO software. Of course, since the software is no longer on the phone, I am getting an error message.

Does anyone know what file these automatic program executions are kept in so that I can delete it out?

I had once run into a similar problem with the Cingular XpressMail. After I uninstalled the application, everytime I powered on my phone, it will try to run the push email client.

The way I got rid of it was by re-installing the application and then uninstalling it. :)

I have to agree with everyone here. The one experience I had was the internet other than Yahoo! Go would stop working from time to time. I had to keep resetting my phone which was very annoying. Also, you can set the reconnect to a certain measure of time and thats when it actually tells you that you have emails... most of the time it failed to reconnect anyway. Anyone got any trash to throw?
