According to Greenlight Wireless, MySpace is the first social networking site to appear among the top five most highly visited sites by Skweezer's mobile users, which was determined by a weekly traffic report generated for the first week of August. Similar sites that allow users to share information and meet online, such as Flickr, del.icio.us, and Friendster,<br />have also experienced rapid uptake by Skweezer users in recent months."<br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/augusto-2006.08.22-skweezer.gif" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><br />I know, I know! You're thinking the same exact thing that I was... What the heck is Skweezer?! After some poking around I found out that Skweezer is a service that optimizes Web pages, searches, and e-mail for use on Smartphones and other cell phones. If you have ever tried to visit MySpace from your phone then you can understand the need for a service such as this! Now if only the URL wasn't such a pain in the rear to type out on my Cingular 2125 ;)

I for one think this will be the boost Social Networking needed to go mainstream.

Noob?

It was introduced on this site quite a while ago. Search the archived before posting?

Nice one, call the editor in training a n00b. I hope they take into consideration your whopping 41 posts before they kick you. Just Kidding. ;)

There's a lot of stuff posted here. Not everyone reads everything. Besides, it's not like Skweezer is an extremely popular product/service.

Back on topic....

I think it's pretty interesting that social sites like MySpace are what's driving the mobile internet. I tend to use for looking up data and researching while I'm out and about. I don't tend to use PIE for social interaction. It's just to painful.

It couldn't be a PIE experience, it will have to be a installed software experience. It will help streamline the process. PIE would be workable, but a dedicated app would be awesome. Expecially with Microsoft Live Anywhere, you'll see Mobile communities explode.

Tiny, Tiny bit off topic....

I, for some reason, can not get access to ANY Thoughts sites from my workplace. I read their news during the day via RSS on my phone, but if I want to read or respond to a thread I go thru Skweezer on my work PC. This has been going on for MONTHS and MONTHS now.

So I have been getting a slightly differernt usage out of the service.

And yes, Skweezer has been around for quite some time. I always thought it was a mandetory PIE favorite on Smartphones and PPCs.

I started a MySpace page this weekend so I was able to see someone's photos.

Then I created a LIVE space and like that experience soooooo much better. I hope it takes off. PLEASE. MySpace Pages a ad-ridden and my Spyware Doctor wont let me on half of them because of the ads. I need to refresh, refresh, refresh, before I can view the page with a new group of ads that aren't blocked.

not to mention all the spam on myspace. i havent checked out LIVE space but im fed up with the constant "please look at my webcam" advertisments that riddle my inbox all day there so i might just give it a try.
