So I've had my 2125 for a week now and love it. EDGE network is pretty fast, work email, gmail, blah blah blah :) It's great.

Anyway, I am running into one issue with it that I did not have on my SMT5600 previously.

On the 5600 to unlock the keypad you had to press the soft unlock key and then '#'

On the 2125 you press the soft unlock key and '*'.

The issue I am having with this is that those 2 keys are on the same side of the keypad, so when it's in the case and on my hip in the car the seatbelt is mashing that side of the keypad enough that it is randomly unlocking the keypad.

I noticed this because I had all kinds of new contacts in my phone with names like '000+0+'...which is kinda funny, but a pain.

Is there a way to modify the phone so I can set the unlock key back to the '#' ?

Sidenotes: I could take the phone off but wouldn't feel it vibrate, I can't hear it either cause my Evo is loud and no ringtone can penetrate it :)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, I thought after this many views some one might have an idea.

I realize this may be hard coded but the way everything else can be changed I thought this could too :x

There's no way to change this - that I know of. That doesn't mean it's not possible.

However, I haven't had this issue at all. Are you sure the phone is locked before you put it away? I use an automatic keylock program by maniac to make sure the keys lock after 30 seconds. I think it's the single best free tool for your phone. Check it out --> http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9859

Otherwise, I would be surprised if it's actually unlocking as a result of the seatbelt or whatever. I've attempted to do this with my finger pressing all the keys on that side of the phone and I can't get it to unlock. :?

On a related note I find that every time I take my locked phone (2125) out of the belt clip to answer an incoming call the phone has already answered the call. This is because you only need to push one button to answer even a locked phone. It should be a 2 button answer if the phone is locked in my opinion. I can't screen the calls otherwise!

Yeah, I have the same issue with appointment reminders. :(

Thanks guys. I will check out that app but I don't put my phone in the case unless I see the unlock soft key displayed.

Like I said, it's a small annoyance so I've just been taking it off of my belt in the car for now.

I'm glad I found this site a few weeks ago. A ton of helpful info so far!
