The family and I have been on vacation at the cottage for the last 11 days. Nothing but sun, sand, and a few alcoholic beverages. Oh, and a couple screaming kids. But what are you going to do? ;) In the end everyone had a great time away from the normal routine. However, all good things must come to an end. Vacation time is over, the kids are back to daycare, and my wife and I are back to work. Well, not really. My wife is back to work. I'm back to looking for work. The fun has come to an end and it's time to settle down and find a job. Anyone looking for a very knowledgeable Windows Mobile guru in the Toronto area? Or perhaps you want to exploit one of my many other talents. ;) If so, hit the contact page and drop me an email. (http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/contact.php)

It looks like Jason, Kris, Jerry, and Rocco did an excellent job of keeping the ship afloat. Thanks guys. And thanks to our readers for taking it easy on them. ;) If you sent me an email and you haven't heard back, now you know why. I'm working my way through the huge stack of email (hoping to find a nice job offer in there someplace) and should have everything caught up in the next day or so.

Back to the vacation talk; Somehow we managed to take over 300 pictures in the course of 11 days. Am I ever glad for digital cameras. I can't imagine what that would have cost me in film. Here's a couple pictures of what I had to look at every day for the last week and a half.

Welcome back Mike. The sunset picture is awesome.

now its my turn to take a vacation :)

Sorry Rocco, newbies must complete six months of service before they are allowed to have a vacation. It says so in the SPT Official Contributing Editors Handbook. Didn't Mike make you initial right next to the clause. ;-)

Don't let their looks fool you. Devils I say! I like how you can see the water starting to spray out of the spray bottle he's holding. What you can't see is that he's about to spray his mommy. It was a sneak attack.

Thanks. The sunsets are always worth a couple dozen shots. I'm always finding new and breath taking ways to shot the sunsets. I need a better camera to get them to the next level. I should put together a digital album of my sunset pictures. I just took a look through my collection to pick out another one to display but I can't decide on just one. Before I knew it, I had a dozen or so that I was ready to upload. 8O :D

So to make it easy, here's the last sunset picture I snapped last summer.

Yeah, I love sunset pics...I just wish I weren't so lazy and I could get up early for sunrise pics. ;-)

We have tried it. We wake up early and head out, only to find that it is cloudy and the sun is hiding behind the clouds. :-(

I've thought about it, and I'm usually up in time for it (kids). However, the sun comes up on the other side of the cottage, and there's heavy tree coverage and a rather large embarkment which is also tree covered. So you can't get a shot of the sun until it's pretty high.

Ok Mike,
You are officially not allowed to post pics anymore :)
Those are very nice.

Just got back from 10 days myself along the shores of Lake Erie. Got to watch the sunset from Presque Isle in Erie PA on the 4th just before the fireworks. I have no idea why I live in Dallas.

Well, when you take 300+ your chances of a couple nice ones are better. ;)

Well, we weren't all that far apart. I was on Lake Huron. :D
