How can i get the IMEI on a Motorola Q (Verizon)?
The standard way to obtain the IMEI (unique ID of your phone) is to dial
*#06# , but on the Motorola Q *#06# does not work!
Is that a general Windows Mobile Smartphone or Windows Mobile Pocket PC
Phone problem?
(i.e. does *#06# work on other Windows Mobile devices?)
*#06# works just fine on all my Nokia phones...

I don't believe the Q has an IMEI number, only an ESN located on the sticker under the battery.

I thought all GSM cellphones had an IMEI?
IMEI (SV): International Mobile Equipment Identity (and Software Version)
IMEI stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity. The IMEI is a unique 15-digit code used to identify an individual GSM mobile telephone to a mobile network.
And the Motoroma Q is a GSM cellphone...

Verizon uses the CDMA technology which uses the ESN serial numbers instead of IMEI's that GSM phones use :(

ok, thanks for the information!
indeed the Motorola Q does not use a SIM card, so it is not GSM.
too bad, those cellphones with SIM cards are much more convenient, as i can move my SIM card from one to the other as needed.
