i have the smt 5600 (i know im behind the times) and i wanted to send a MP3 clip to a friend to use as a ringtone. When i try to find it to send it via mms all that shows up are wave files. Does this mean the smt 5600 does not have the capability to send MP3's via MMS?
any words of wisdom are appreciated

Yeah, there's no way to do it with MMS. I don't know if it's a 5600 issue or a MMS issue. You can't use Bluetooth either. You can attach it to a regular email and send it that way.

Yea, i was trying to send an Mp3 clip to a friend so she could use it as a ringtone. Unfortunatly she is unable to grab attachements via email on her phone. I am getting the cingular 2125 by next week, do you know if i will encounter this same problem via MMS with the new 2125?

Not sure. I've never used MMS and I don't have a 2125 to test that with. Perhaps one of the 2125 owners around here will be able to comment on this. :?

If you have both phone, what about using ActiveSync? I would think that would be faster and easier. You need AS to do any cool mods to your phone anyways, so why not?
BTW, I would suggest not taking the 2125...it's the same phone as the SDA, (T-mobile branded) aka sp5m...compare on phonescoop: sda / sp5m vs. 2125
http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/compare.php?id%5B%5D=862&id%5B%5D=800&id%5B%5D=&id%5B%5D=&id%5B%5D=
Differences include:
sp5m is slightly lighter, smaller, an has Wifi.
If you're with T-Mobile, you can unlock the phone, see

I bought my sp5m for $210 on ebay as the SDA and unlocked it, no problems. The only benefit I know of the 2125 is that it's a different color...I think it looks more like the 5600, but I love it anyways.
If you need the T-Mobile card to unlock the phone, I could do it for you as well, you just pay shipping and a little for the time. :-)
Spend the $51 I did on ebay to add the 2 GB mini SD card, it's worth it. I can do about 8-9 full length movies now.
