Hi Guys,

Sorry if this is a bizarre question.

I have a SDA with tmobile on a family plan (the other phones are a Samsung and a Sidekick).

My SDA is configured to run through tzones because I didnt want to pay the exorbitant net charge just to check e-mail which is what I do most often.

In the last 30 days, something very strange has started to happen;

Calls (ALL last 1 minute and are free mobile to mobile) are being made from all handsets to a number in SantaBarbara CA. For example, I am in the office overnight and asleep this morning, yet with nobody around, me asleep and my phone on charge, 3 calls to this number were made.

Anybody experienced this, in my case same number across 3 lines, and with the number not physically being dialed.

Thanks

Mick

Voice mail perhaps?

I would try hard reseting the device and then see if it still happens. I know it's a big step, but I wouldn't be happy about my phone making calls without me knowing about it.

Mike,

Thanks for the response.

I just got off the phone (again) with tech support at t-mobile and they basically agree with what your saying, voicemail number forwarding incorrect.

Its been reset, and I'll monitor online but the issues I have with this explanation are as follow's;

All 3 devices would have had to reset the number incorrectly, 2 certainly haven't at all, one is doubtful.

Voicemail has been coming in, how could it pick and choose when to use the righ number.

The calls are outgoing, how could that be, unless I have failed to grasp some fundamental concept.

I guess I'll play a wait and see game with the 2 handsets that are not the SDA and do as you suggest, a hard reset on mine.

Mike, again, I appreciate the response.

Thanks

Mick

I'm not really sure how they have voice mail setup. I agree, you shouldn't see it calling out without you initiating the call. Perhaps they have some setup where the phone needs to check for voice mail? Just a guess.

The only other reason that I can think of is a virus, but we haven't seen any for Windows mobile yet. And what good is a virus that calls the voicemail number?

Once you hard reset, don't install any programs for a couple days - just to make sure that the phone has stopped dialing that number. Then install your apps slowly and watch to see if it starts to call it again. What applications do you have installed anyway? Anything questionable?

Mike,

I have very little, in the way of 'add-ons' a manager, smartnotes etc.

So far, the problem seems resolved BUT, I created another so off I go to industriously be a nuisance in another post!!

just change your voicemail number to your own phone number (for each phone) and you should be in the clear ;)
