Some industry pundits are predicting email, security, and communications upgrades in the revised Windows Mobile platform when it arrives." Gartner analyst Ken Dulaney said, "If it is announced at the end of the year, which is my prediction, then shipment won't be until mid-2007."</i><br /><br />Well if you want to get a handle on when the next Windows Mobile OS will be in our hands just take a look at this article and have a look at <a href="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/articles.php?action=expand,11312">Mike's interview with John Starkweather.</a> After looking at the two I now have no idea which OS I have now let alone when the new one is coming. I have given up on hoping this will ever be like it is in the PC world. As long as we have to wait for the carriers to do things we will never really know when we will have new goodies in our hands.

i dunno, i honestly feel once we reach a standard when all WM Smartphones have at least 512MB+ of internal storage we will start to see some serious growth in the Smartphone world. Once we have decent sized internal storage there really wouldn't be a reason to have everything so locked down by the carriers. We would hopefully be able to just purchase the WM software and then have the carriers/manufacturer release drivers for it, similar to PC's now.
