Have you checked out the advertisements in the magazines lately? Notice anything different? Your favourite Windows Mobile device might now be advertised in it. I am not talking about the Pocket PC Phone Edition devices like the Treo 700w, I am talking about Smartphones. In the last three weeks, I spotted the T-Mobile SDA being advertised in the two recent issues of the Time magazine and the upcoming Motorola Q was advertised in the recent Sports Illustrated issue.

Let's hope that this trend continues and catches more momentum. It feels good to see the light-weight Smartphones being given the same kind of publicity like their bulkier counterparts - the Treos, the BlackBerries and the Pocket PC Phone Editions. The Moto Q advertisement tag-line conveys the message really well - "Ironically, the business is about to get bigger." So true, our Smartphones can do almost everything that its heavier/older cousins can do. What are your thoughts? Are you also excited? Or am I the only geek who is proud to see his mobile gadget being advertised in the magazine? :)

Yeah, I saw an ad for the Q (moto ad, not Verizon) in my wife's "US Weekly" magazine last week...

When these ads starting hitting Cosmo and Glamour you really know that Smartphone has arrived :-)

Well, as a very satisfied owner of the T-Mobile SDA, I'm very glad to see this exposure. This little phone never ceases to amaze me with its usefulness.

I switched over from a Dell Axim X30 to the Tmo SDA. I couldn't be happier. I haven't once missed my Axim (though it was a great device). The only thing I wish for the smartphones is a that it had a simple word compatible word processor. Otherwise, I couldn't be happier. I don't think I would trade my SDA for any other device.

I see a lot of 2125 advts on the Web sites, mostly tech sites, and seem to be sponsored by Microsoft. But would like to see the 2125 in the print.

Ah...but the power users seem to like it so far:

But all I really need to know is "WDWMT?"

(What does Walt Mosberg Think?)

I think the real power users are actually on this site. I'd love to know what users here think of the Q. Most of what I've read out there has been positive.

WooHoo..saw the Moto Q/Verizon advt on the TV just now. Was watching MSNBC news. Smartphones are now on TV as well.

The Recent SI magazine has two ads - one for the SDA and one for the Q.
