If you use the Google Personalized Homepage and have installed the Reader Homepage Module, it'll automatically show up on your mobile homepage. Simply go to google.com on your mobile phone's browser (or google.com/xhtml if you not redirected automatically) and click the link to "Personalized Home"."</i><br /><br /> <img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Jerry-teaser_google.gif" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />Personally I am not a big fan of much Google does other than using them for searches. Most of what they do always seems a bit primitive to me. Here now is another one of their offerings for your consideration. I haven't checked out myself. Let us know what you think if you do.

Primitive? Really... I'd always thought they were one of the best. They seem to take services that have been around and in a rut forever, and revolutionize them. Look at Gmail, and google maps. They spurred all the competition into finally improving their product!

Google mail, clunky and too slow. Google maps...didn't even know they had that. Sticking the brand on a paperclip won't make the paperclip more paper-clippy. Google is is spreading itself too thin and has become out of touch with what made it great. Simplicity.

I won't bother with Google RSS reader on my phone cuz I have newsbreak and I love it.

I don't find Google mail slow at all. It's just as fast as any other web-based mail that I've used. And as far as the amount of free space they provide, it outweights any of the other options I've tried.

Google maps has the satellite images and an overlay feature that is really nice. I often find it's more accurate than Mapquest in locating addressed. That and you can type the address right in the Google search bar and get a fast response.

I'm glad to see the RSS Reader arrive.

I'm surprised you find google mail slow. In my experience it's been faster than most web based email clients, since it doesn't reload the whole page each time you click, but only the relevant portion. the Google search for my mail is much more efficient than searching for a message in outlook, and they've kept it fairly simple while integrating other features with it.

As for maps, if you've never tried it, you should. Like mail, other companies are working hard to catch up, but google maps was and is much better to use than mapquest, who I consider to be the previous leader in the market. Hard to describe it in detail, but the ability to work with maps like it's a desktop application, rather than having to click an arrow and wait for the map to reload every time you need to move a bit left or right, is one of the reasons I like it.

As for simple, there's still the original www.google.com , plain and to the point. But for me, the personalized home page, the mail, maps, calendar, etc. are features I'll be sticking with. At least until someone else comes along and revolutionizes things again.

i have always found google to be on the cutting edge of technology. there are so many useful applications that they have that they do not advertise. for instance google trends (http://www.google.com/trends), a nifty application that will let you see the search trends of words in a nice easy to read graph. type in "windows mobile, symbian" and what do you get? http://www.google.com/trends?q=windows+mobile%2C+symbian (click to find out)

I am just slight amused with Google offerings. Other than searching, I find them quite flat. No style, no flair.

I have to disagree. I am a Google follower all the way. I think Google's products are the best out there. On a daily basis, I use Gmail, Calendar, Maps, Personalized Homepage, and Desktop.

As far as style and flair, I disgagree again. :-) They're streamlined and basic, which, after using Hotmail or Yahoo mail, is a blessing. I think they have a definite style and it's really cool, in my opinion. Flair? No, they don't have much of that, but that's kind of the point, I think. That's part of the reason I love Google so much...their products don't overdo it...they get the job done (better than others) and look clean and refined while doing it.

Google all the way!
