smartphone memory 101 ...please help !

Folks,

I have a hard time understanding the information I am getting from the Task Manager's Sytem Info page: the unit is a smt5600: numbers rounded...

total memory 23MB

storage memory 1.5MB
used 553k
free 938k

program memory 22MB
used 21MB ----------------------- !!! what is that !!!!! I have 2 programs !
free 528k

storage (flash) 27MB
used 6MB
free 21MB------ GREAT...how can I use that ...

storage card...I understand this one...

I probably have a few hundred contacts and a busy schedule, but what is all that program data ? I used the file manager to check it out, but I think it looks at the storage (flash and card) only. what accounts for 21MB !!! all my photos, videos, websites and html files are on the storage card.

I am confused...

I also am having severe memory issues ! I think the only thing I can do is remove the word, excel, ppt, .pdf suite. Everything I can is directed to the Storage Card. Any suggestions ?

visit surrealnetworks.com/mpx from your SDA. It has all of the fixes to correct memory storage issues and other little annoyances. My SDA is now ready for long tirps and all e-mails and attachments are now being handled via the sd card !
