Motorola's Q Smartphone has been all over the news this past week. Could this be a sign that it's actually ready for launch? According to Motorola's Ed Zander, the Q is all set for launch (http://www.phonescoop.com/news/item.php?n=1729) on Verizon's network next week. Motorola has already stepped up the marketing hype (Yes, there is a level higher than the pre-launch noise that we've already seen. ;) ) with the launch of the Find The Q (http://www.findtheq.com/motoqindex.asp) promotion. Who thinks they can win one? I know I don't stand much of chance.

Motorola has long talked about the Q being a BlackBerry killer, and with the inclusion of Office Mobile, (http://www.mobilegadgetnews.com/index.php?s=94f909f96f041fce41267dbde98c93fa&showtopic=12110) it just might give it that extra little push to the top. What's even better than Office Mobile, is the price. (http://www.qusers.com/index.php?itemid=69) It looks like the Q will sell for $349.99 with a 1 year contract, $299.99 for a 2 year, and just $419.99 with no contract. $400 for a Windows Mobile Smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard and Office Mobile. I sure hope it has MSFP included in it too!

So, does that all sound too good to be true? Well, it just might be. It seems that Verizon is claiming that it will not be launched next week (http://www.engadget.com/2006/05/19/verizon-motorola-q-not-launching-next-week/) after all. Is anyone confused and frustrated yet? :?

Should be with in a week or two. But Verizon Employees have been told no Office Mobile, in order to keep the price down.

So the ad is a mis-print?

Seems like a well orchestrated and coordinated event to me. Who would expect anything less from the likes of Motorola and Verizon. I guess I won't be getting an evaluation unit.

The thing that got my attention was the Windows Media Player playing a video in this Verizon Promo. (http://www.vzwshop.com/q/) Click the High Resolution Video Camera link and it shows this Windows Media Player animation, that shows a tiny video window. :? The landscape mode plus the media player controls take up took much space. But on the other hand video in full screen mode should be good because it is in landscape mode to begin with.

Is it Quad Band? Is it Wifi? Is there any leaked photos somewhere? I am behind the times on this phone I think.

The initial launch will be for CDMA phones (Verizon, Sprint) GMS phones won't come until much later and if the MPx220 (which was Quad Band) is any indication then most likely.

The Device will have doc viewers only from what I understand, with the ability to purchase Office Mobile from Microsoft od Verizon or some affiliate. And it is transflash/micro sd not mini.
