Last time I heard is was 6 or 8 mega pixels. Now, it's all the way up to 10. 8O The question still remains, would you leave your Point & Shoot camera behind if you had a camera phone that sports a 10 Mega Pixel camera? Tough call for me. It really depends on the quality of that image. I'm guessing it's pretty good for the average everyday situations. I'll still grab a better camera for the big events in life. ;)

In case anyone is wondering; No this is not a Windows Mobile phone, but it could be. It would be super nice if it was! For now, we'll have to sit around and dream of the what future just might hold for us. ;)

Depends on the image sensor. If it still lives and breathes the poor-quality CMOS that most other camera phones use, then I'd opt for a dedicated camera without question.

honestly, i dont think i would carry a phone with a lens that came out like that. could you imagine just sitting there talking to a room full of people and accidently bump the wrong button while your phones in your pocket and then the lens starts growing. it would totally revive that whole "is that your phone in your pocket" joke that everybody hates.

talk about embarassing

It makes little difference how good of a sensor one uses if the lens is poor.

If my phone had a good sensor and a good lens, the dedicated camera would be gone. Why carry extra stuff?

If someone like Sony Ericsson could shove something like the Sony DSC-T7 (http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProduct.action?product=DSC-T7&site=odw_en_GB&pageType=Overview&category=DPH+Digital+Still+Cameras) into a phone then I'd gladly ditch my stand-alone camera.

Samsung love playing the "world's first" game, but I'm more interested in quality rather than quantity.
