Key Lock on the Home Screen?

Is there a way to get an icon to lock the keypad on the home screen? It really sucks to have to click the power button, then scroll to the Key Lock function.

I think you just have to long hold down the END key on most phones.

That has the unfortunate side effect of killing any active data connections. If you're running Messenger, or downloading email, or waiting for a webpage to load, or updating your weather forecast, etc...
