I'm thinking of selling my Verizon 6700 and joining up with Cingular. Now, do I go with the tried and true 2125 (for about $200) or go with the high tech, Qtek 8500 flip phone (for about $500)? I already have a 2gb mini sd card that would be perfect for the 2125 but if I got the Qtek I would have to buy a micro sd card that tops out at only 1gb. I think the Qtek is a better design (thiner, smaller overall, flip style doesn't leave the screen open to scratches) but $500 is a lot of dough. What do you guys think?

Personally, I'm not a fan of Qtek or their support.

There have been rumblings of a carrier planning to release the StarTrek. If that does come to happen, it would be much more affordable than $500.

As far as rumors of a carrier planning to release the StarTrek it has been my experience that it can take up to a year or longer for such rumors to become a reality (ex. anyone seen a Motorola Q on Verizons website???? Or any website for that matter????)

Don't judge based on the Q. While it is no surprise that it takes a long time for these devices to get to the market, Moto showed their cards really early. The StarTrek is not an Moto device and should be available in Q2. i-mate and Qtek have already reported that they expect to ship it in the near future. Carriers take a couple months longer than that. ;)

From what I've read May 10-13 for the UK and USA version of the Qtek but...who knows when a carrier will adopt it. Oh well, I guess it's a moot point now considering I just got HUMPED. That's right, I chose the 2125 after all. Too many positive comments from the members of this forum.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. It seems to be a very popular device. :D

I have had the 2125 for three weeks now. Very impressed with the call quality, Windows 5.0 very stable, battery power excellent. You couldn't pick a better phone!!!
