Do you have the latest Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 installed on your Smartphone? Are you interested in learning about and testing the next generation Pocket MSN version on your Smartphone? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, we have an exciting opportunity for you to be part of the upcoming beta program for Windows LiveT for your mobile device."</i><br /><br />Windows Live is coming to a Smartphone near you! Well, at least the beta is. If you are a US resident and have a Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone with a unlimited data plan, then you are the kind of person Microsoft is looking for. Head on over to <a href="https://Connect.Microsoft.com">Connect.Microsoft.com</a> and apply. If you don't already have a Connect Beta account, you'll need to set one up. Unfortunately, I don't qualify since I'm living North of the American border. :( Someone please sign up and let us know what it's like, ok?

I believe this is by invitation only. I received the email and filled in a short survey. 8) Now waiting for Microsoft to approve the application.

I don't like the current Pocket MSN.
- It downloads all the Hotmail email, cannot specify the number of days worth of emails to download
- It does not have an auto-download mechanism for Hotmail, requires me to stay logged in to Pocket MSN
- Realized that it even pulls down the folders in your mail account, and the mails in the folders. Bad design.

On a Smartphone where I want to see only the latest and keep the archived stuff out, I hate the out of the box design of Pocket MSN.

So have a lot to crib about. I hope I get accepted.

BTW, I am trying the new http://mobile.msn.com, it has some cool and some terribly not-cool features.

I would recommend readers to visit http://ideas.live.com, don't forget to check out http://toolbar.live.com. It introduces tabbed browsing to IE. And the best part, ties in all the live.com features - favorites, stock quotes, weather etc in one place. Now I can share some of these setting between home and work. Pretty cool.

Well, I never got an invite sent to me, but when I logged in, it was there for me to pick. Unfortunately, I'm not in the US. So I applied anyway, and I'm waiting to see what they say.
