<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=237970' target='_blank'>http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=237970</a><br /><br /></div><i>"T-Mobile have been somewhat blazing-the-trail for Windows Mobile users of late, with their adoption of just about every HTC device under the sun (the Tornado being the unfortunate and notable omission), coupled with their impressive 'web-n-walk' and innovative 'FlexT' tariffs. ...With T-Mobile's current drive to recruit new customers, it looks like THEY aren't going to be April Fools, and a reworking of Web-n-Walk and FlexT is on the cards, to integrate the tariffs. All good I hear you say, but how does this shake up the UK Mobile Data market? Well, if our sources are to be believed, T-Mobile will announce - with some fanfare - a £7.50 per month flat rate data usage plan! Likely subject to a fairly relaxed 'acceptable usage plan' (1GB seems likely), the deal looks set to have Smart device users on other networks migrating in droves."</i><br /><br />This is some good news if you're a T-Mo UK subscriber, or if you're able to switch your provider to be T-Mo. The 1GB limit is a pretty nice plus, I must say. The launch of flat rate data plans in the UK has been sorely missing for a while now.

If true, this is great news and means that lack of WiFI in a phone device is "no big deal". I am on Web 'n' Walk and pay £4 for 6MB each month - not bad for occaisional web surfing but I avoid emails as going over the limit is very expensive.
I am due to switch contract in June, as was going to O2; if T-Mobile goes ahead with this plan, I'll stick with them.

This is excellent, excellent news if true. T-Mobile hasn't been very competitive with its plans historically, and their range of phones has been poor, but the plans they've announced recently have certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons.
I'll definitely be switching to T-Mobile when this comes in.

Having just switched from T-Mobile mid last year this is now tempting me to switch back once my contract is up with o2, unless they do something similar which'd be nice...

I hear that this new tarrif will actually be £8.50 per month (on top of your normal voice plan), with a 2GB per month acceptable usage restriction. This plan will only be for phones only, so you can have those nice push email features without worrying :) !
I also hear the new data card (and this time it will be silver not pink!) is coming out that will support HSPDA in the next month or so and that they will starting to roll this network upgrade across the network in the coming couple of months... When that happens I will seriously look at changing from Orange to T-Mobile!

God I hope this rumor is true. I can't believe we have not had a reasonably price unlimited plan and have to pay high per MB charges for so long. Mobile data access is widespread in the USA because of unlimited plans buy here we are in the mobile data stone age. Personally I think the UK carriers are greedy and desperately trying to claw back some of the billions they spent on 3G only for a few people to use it. For a long time I have said offer low cost unlimited plans and users will gladly pay.
