Give it a read!

Jason, a while back you were evaluating some software to get DVD's to your portable devices. Video Vault was one you wrote about as I recall. Is Any DVD your product of choice?

Yeah, I'm working on those reviews next. Video Vault is good, as is CloneDVD Mobile. Video Vault has a few more controls over export (WMV, DivX) whereas CloneDVD Mobile seems to be DivX only, but it's a cleaner interface and it easier to use. I have a review of CloneDVD coming up soon on Digital Media Thoughts.

I have been playing w/ AnyDVD and CloneDVDMobile quite a bit, and it's definitely nice...I have been able to produce pretty good quality movies for my Windows Smartphone. There is a glitch in the INI file for the Smartphone entry, but once that is fixed, you can use that and pump out regular (MPEG4 i guess) format instead of DIVX. Forgive the lack of definition there, not much up on the different formats.

Anyway...I ripped a Pooh video for my kid on the plan and also Sith to keep me occupied here and there...and while I find it neat, watching on a 2" screen is a bit hard on the eyes.

I still like the interface though and how easy it is to use, I plan on buying it to rip all my DVDs to the HD of my media center machine and to convert everything to smartphone format for plane trips.
