Please Help!
I have set up a Pop email account on my T-Mobile SDA through my local cable provider (Cox). I have work messages forwarded to this Cox account, and it seems to work fine. I'd like to address these items on the SDA, however, that I was able set up correctly on my old Treo 600:
1) How can I set the "reply to" on the email so that when I'm sending mail from the SDA & the recipient hits "reply" it will reply to my work email address instead of the Cox address?
2) How can I add a BCC field that automatically applies to every message sent from the SDA? I like to send copies of my sent message to my work email account.
3) For some reason every email I recieve gets sent to my Text Messages, too. How do I disable that?
Many, many thanks if you're able to help.
Best,
John
For those interested, here's my SDA review that I posted on CNET:
Selfish Request--First, I would like to suggest that all current owners and prospective ones contact Boxwave (http://www.boxwave.com) or any seller of protective "skins" and request that they manufacture one to fit this model. Supposedly they determine whether they will make one based on requests for certain models. There are several available for the Euro model that lacks this model's "hump" on the top. It's only a matter of time before I drop it, and my Treo took a real beating ... which brings me literally and figuratively to the T-Mobile SDA!
Selfless Advice--Second, do not let the price tag of the SDA turn you away. Because I haven't upgraded in over 2 years, I was able to get the SDA for $139 with a 2-year term and a 1,000 minutes + data (no HotSpot) plan for $39.99 + $20 = ~$60/month. T-Mobile owned & operated retail stores won't be able to give you this deal--you'll have to call customer care and give them a bit of a hard time (e.g., threaten to churn to another carrier). Of course, it helps if you're not currently locked in a plan.
My experience after owning this device for only two days is similar to the other reviewers. I've been very impressed.
The Windows Mobile 5 OS is light years more involving and complex than the Palm OS I have been using, but I expect it to be a welcome change.
Yes, the keys on the SDA are small. If you aren't dextrous, you might consider another device. Also, I imagine it will take me some time away from the Palm Treo's qwerty keyboard to really become adept at this form of text entry.
Looking at the screen resolution, however, makes the small keys amost insignificant. Great display.
I enjoy the myriad of wireless radios on the SDA. In my limited use, Wi-Fi isn't as fast as I expected. I hope my work network (fully open) is to blame, not the SDA.
I expect this phone will be very popular in the coming months. Having worked for T-Mobile in the past, I have to say they finally have a non-"Crackberry" winner in the category!
