It makes this profile possible with Bluetooth stereo headset to stereo music listen as from the pocket PC. or Smartphone. This decision has been taken according to our two sources by HTC as a result of constant jammings in the functioning of the Bluetooth would wish concerning let be the quality of the sound profile this way and not constant. Moreover a large percentage of the available Bluetooth stereo headsets would work not well with the Bluetooth profile."</i><br /><br />If that's a little hard to read, it's the fault of BableFish. ;) Basically, what this post on PocketInfo.nl is saying is that the long awaited A2DP profile will not be part of the AKU2 release. I think it's worth clarifying things a little. A2DP is part of AKU2.0. It was all RTM'ed by Microsoft back in August of 2005. If the ODMs choose not to include it in their ROM updates, that is a choice they can make. It won't be popular. However, if one manufacturer leaves it out, that doesn't mean it's not going to be included from another manufacturer. I hope that HTC hasn't decided to leave it out, but only time will tell on this one. :(

But this feature really do not work. In Eten M600 support for stereo Bluetooth headsets is included as standard starting from OS version 0171, but it is of little use. I tested latest OS versions with AKU2 included on all Qtek devices including S200- same story  !

But this feature really do not work. ! In what way? Does it not broadcast to A2DP headsets/headphones? Is the quality poor? Is the remote functionality not there? pause, play, skip, etc. Does it not shut of the A2DP when a Headset/handsfree call comes in.
Doesn't work is a bit broad.
For me the reality is that if A2DP is in fact not included, I no longer am excited about AKU2, and can stop holding my breath. I'm sure there are other worthwile additions/fixes, but those aren't that visible yet. MSFP holds no particular interest for me. Mine are not corporate devices and I'm not on an Exchange Server.

We debated posting this last night at PPCT, and came to the conclusion that it may likely be in error. There are 'leaked' ROMs out there already that have the A2DP profile, and MS has promised it will be in this AKU. If the operators choose to leave it out, that is troubling. If it comes to pass that this ROM is released with A2DP, though, look for a fiery rant on PPCTs homepage the likes of which are not often seen - I will be simultaneously flabbergasted, peeved, and furious...

Exactly. It is in AKU2 - no question. The only issue is if the carrier has decided not to include it. While this is possible, I really don't expect it to happen. At least not with all the carriers. Maybe one or two - like Verizon. ;)
