I have an O2 Xphone (Microsoft Smartphone) I want to be able to put new ringtones and additional applications on the phone. I have been told that I need to disable the security certificates on the phone in order to do this. Is anyone able to tell me how to do that? The phone is not contracted to any network provider.

You shouldn't need to do that to install RingTones. However, you might need to do that for applications. Try frist and see if it installs.
Copy your RingTones to \Storage\Application Data\Sounds and you should be fine.

I haven't used it, so I don't know if it works or not, but I did notice a checkbox in Tweaks2k2 that offers to unlock your phone... this might be what you need.
