Frost & Sullivan contends that the costs of developing proprietary telematics and infotainment software are prohibitive. A common platform such as WMfA offers a cost-effective way to bring telematics and infotainment to mass-market vehicle models. It also serves as a gateway for connecting multiple consumer devices to the vehicle."

Ok, this news has absolutely nothing to do with Smartphones, or plain old mobile phones, but it's pretty impressive and I felt it was worth mentioning. When I was out in Seattle last December for the Mobius conference, we had a chance to talk with Peter Wengert from the Windows Mobile for Automotive group and we even got a look at Microsoft's Hummer - fully decked out with Windows Mobile for Automotive. I'm really excited and looking forward to what the future holds for these guys. If you're interested, you can read more about WMfA over at Microsofts website. Congratulations on the award guys, and keep up the excellent work! :D

Correction: Sorry, I goofed on the name. It's all good now. ;)
