EMI driving me nuts [Archive] - Thoughts Media Forums

I love my Cingular 2125 with the exception of the buzzing noises it creates on most PC speakers. Very loud, VERY annoying.

Does anyone know of a decent low-cost ($60 to $80) PC speaker system w/ subwoofer that's shielded and doesn't make a sound near HTC Smartphones? I had a SMT 5600 that did the same thing.

I currently have mid-priced Altec Lansing and Creative systems and both sets are effected when my phone is within 3 or 4 feet.

Sorry, I don't have any recommendations. I have noticed it happens with various speakers too. If possible, just try moving your phone a little. Sometimes that makes all the difference.

It's not a smartphone thing or an HTC thing BTW. Most all GSM phones seem to do it when accessing GPRS. Car radios (or speakers) pick it up too. My Wifes Razr does it as does my MPX220. Location and distance seem to make the most difference. I don't think it is exactly the speakers, BTW. I think it is being introduced into the audio system. even the amp in most PC speakers.
