HI, FIRST POST AS I HAVE JUST GOT THE I300.

NOT USED WM3SE BEFOR BUT I CANNOT ASSIGN A TUNE AS A RINGTONE, THE MANUAL IS VERY VAGUE IT SAYS YOU CAN DO IT BUT I CANNOT FIND OUT HOW.

WHEN I GO THROUGH MY LIST THE SET AS RINGTONE IS NOT HIGHLIGHTED.

FABULOUS PHONE BUT THIS LITTLE THING IS GETTING ME FRUSTRATED.

TOP SITE WILL KEEP POSTING TILL IT SINKS IN.

CANT ASSIGN A PHOTO TO A CONTACT EITHER AAAGGGHHH!!!

You need to place the MP3 or WMA or MID file in the \Application Data\Sounds\ folder. Then you can edit the sounds and it should be listed. If you still don't see it, try a file with a lower bit rate.

You can also assign ringtones to individual contacts, just browse your contacts, select the one you want a specific ringtone for, and edit it. Towards the bottom of the fields you'll see Custom RingTone. ;)

Does the i300 come with a photo contacts app built in? Windows Mobile 2003 (and SE) didn't ship with photo contacts from Microsoft. HTC phones had a third party app loaded. But your phone isn't from HTC. I'm not sure that there is a photo contacts application installed. :?
