If you're using the Automatic profile, your phone will switch it's profile when a calendar appointment comes up. With SmartProfile, you can tell it to ignore any appointments where the category is Car or Dinner. You can download a 15 day trial version or purchase a copy for $12.95 from our affiliate store.

We just updated Smartphone.Net with our new version 1.03, which includes a much requested feature...override time ranges by date of the week. In this version you can set one range per day, however, in a future version we will expand this.

One interesting feature of the overrides is the ability to overlap into the next day. For instance, if you wanted to have the profile switch to silent on Friday night at 10:00 PM and restore to normal at 6:00 AM Saturday morning. You simply turn on Friday by checking it, then put 10:00 PM in the first column and 6:00 AM in the second.

We have worked hard a testing various regional settings, but due to the complexity of waking up the device and setting date ranges, we are looking for feedback if you have any issues with a given regional setting.

Remember that due to the waking up of the device, the software needs to be installed in the phone memory, not on a storage card.

Thanks.

Rob.

It crushas on my SMT5600 when I go to the Categories menu. It shows the dialog with two empty listboxes and crushes if I press any key.

The program gets the categories by reading the appointments and building a list of the used categories. If you have appointments with categories, and they are not showing up, please try saving an appointment with categories on the smartphone. We have had some people report that categories only show up if you save the appointment on the smartphone. We are looking into this, and will have a fix.

Thanks.
Rob.

Thank you for the replay. I am really looking forward to have this application working for me. I have a lot of meetings and I hate to turn off the phone manually. I almost started to develop my own software and then I found your application.

I have many appointments without any categories, because most of them are meeting requests I got from the company's exchange server and I never edit them. May be this is why it can't process them.

I don't think you will have any problems with the product reading appointments and processing them for profile switching. No problems have been reported with this feature. However, we are still working on why there are situations where the categories are not retrieved unless you save the appointment on the device (or resave it if it was created on the desktop).

I use it for meetings as well, and it has saved some real embarrassment.
