I have seen some old posts (earlier this year on another board) but nothing recently on compatability issues with the SMT5600 and the factory installed Uconnect hands free system from Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep. I have a new Dodge with Uconnect and was looking forward to using my fancy 5600 - I can get them to pair but then the connection gets lost. Appears to be a 5600 problem and not a Uconnect issue. Any thoughts or advise?
Thanks

Get a different phone, or a different Handsfree set. Fought that for a little while with my Motorola MPX220 and the SMT5600, and my Jeep with U-Connect. Both act about the same. Pairs but when trying to use it, 'The paired device doesn't supoport that operation'.
I suppose you could try to complain to Audiovox, but I bet you don't get much satisfaction if you even get someone who understands the problem. Unfortunately Johnson Controls (the U-Connect OEM, who I did call) and Audiovox can just point at each other as the culprit.
Even more irritating to me is my MPX220, a Motorola phone, that doesn't work, when my Wife's Motorola Razr works fine. They must just stencil their logo on whatever they get from the OEMs. What's worse is that the MPX220 does work (pretty much) with a Korean ROM flashed on it. Tells me it's a software issue, pure and simple.
Maybe if an SMT5600 update comes out it will get fixed. Wishing us both luck. FWIW both my i-Mate devices work just fine with my U-Connect; JasJar, K-Jam.
