As you may know, the current version of OneNote 2003 can sync with the notes on your Smartphone or PocketPC - ink, text, or voice. But this is a limited sync - it is only one way: from device to the PC. So you canít really take your notes with you except the ones you created on the device. And the note-taking applet in these devices is not the strongest."</i><br /><br />Coming with Office 12 (or whatever it will be called) will be OneNote Mobile. I haven't used OneNote much but a working mobile version might get me interested. If you read through this article you will find mention of the programs ability to find text in image files. That is pretty cool. :)

OMG! I love OneNote!

However, this article has one thing going against it: it discusses using OneNote with a Smartphone. I think that OneNote Mobile will really shine with a touchscreen-enabled device, ie, a Pocket PC or Pocket PC Phone Edition. As with most things Smartphone, I think that OneNote Mobile will really shine when it comes to referring to information, not so much with creating/entering that information.

Maybe it focused on that because Smartphone is the most painful platform to enter data on. Just a hunch.
