It features a 2.2 inch 240x320 pixel 262K colour screen, an Intel xScale PXA272 520MHz processor, a 3GB MicroDrive, 64MB ROM 64MB SDRAM, Bluetooth 1.1, USB 1.1, IrDA, CDMA, a 2 MegaPixel Camera, and it weights 162g. On top of all that, it runs Windows Mobile 2003 SE. It's a great looking phone and the features sound solid. But, where is Windows Mobile 5? Samsung was a premier partner at the launch, but they have failed to deliver a device running Windows Mobile 5. I wish I knew what is Samsung thinking.

It's just a marketing mistake. They are using Ed Zander's playbook.

No buzz created unless my carrier has it. And Verizon seems locked into yesterday...

It's a CDMA phone, so there is a better chance for Verizon than the usual handset. However, I really don't understand the Windows Mobile 2003 part of it. Even if it was available on Verizon, would you buy it? It's the same as your i600, just a slider instead of a flip.

It is DOA in my opinion.

Could it be that Verizon is insisting on WM 2003SE?

I can see gains from the carrier perspective. They do not have to retrain their support staff the new menus etc. No need to re-write the guides etc.

And in other news - Verizon's support staff has been trained on Smartphone software!

(Nope wouldn't trade for it. I'm sold on the flip phones.)
