I haven't done the DPI calculations, but the 320 x 240 resolution on a screen that small makes for a visual experience that looks identical to VGA resolution on a Pocket PC (does someone want to calculate the DPI for me?). The SP5 was very responsive - I didn't get the same sluggish performance I've had with pre-Windows Mobile 5 hardware running Windows Mobile 5. This is definitely one phone that's on my radar!

That's a nice phone, but I believe it's the Qtek 8310.

I'm holding out for the music version of that. The specs on both phones sound great, just waiting for someone to verify the Bluetooth and USB versions. http://www.qtek.fi/qtek8300.htm

I agree, the phone looks great. I'm just not a fan of the top row of buttons being so close together. I use my device in the dark on a regular basis, and I think those buttons would make things pretty difficult. Otherwise, this would be my next device. :)

Hotness! This thing looks great, although the comment about the smallish upper buttons seems to hold true. I dont think that will deter me though, I prefer the layout better than the M version.

Everything I have read to date suggests USB1.1 and Bluetooth1.1 :(
I hope all those articles are simply not true and we see a device with 2.0 and 1.2!

Regardless, I think this will be the one for me. Does i-Mate have anything similar to predictive text on the Moto's. I looked at the 220 for a bit, but we wont go there....

I want one..I want one. :onfire:

But I can't have one...I can't have one.

I no longer control the finance department in my home. :-( I am married now.

I think I will wait..and wait...and wait for T-Mobile of someone to launch it for half the price that eXpansys is selling it for.

It won't deter me. I am in love with the dual color styling.

I am afraid it is the older version. :-( But hey it has Wi-Fi. :rock on dude!:

It will have T9. I have the SP3i. And that the T9. Some say it is better than the Moto's iTap. But I think iTap is not bad.

I'll do half of it: VGA @ 3.7" is 210 dpi. I'm pretty sure.

One thing good about WM5 on the Smartphone is the start menu "more" is brought up to the left softkey. I've written a hack for 2003 that does the same thing and it's so much nicer than crimping your thumb down to the 9 key.

That's funny, I think the exact opposite - the left softkey should be "back" and the right softkey should be "forward". I find it utterly counterintuitive that I need to press a button on the left to see more....but that's just me.

Absolutely. But one thing is for sure: more should not be the hardest button to press (currently "9" on WM2003SE and earlier).

If I hacked left soft for back and right soft for more, where does menu go? My preference would be for press and hold action even if it is a little hidden.

Thanks Kris! I hear you about waiting till a carrier subsidises this thing, but seeing how long in the past carriers take to 'Q&A' and sometimes cripple phones before releasing them into the wild I think Ill bite the bullet. Stilll have to wait for the first batch of reviews to hit though. I am a trusting person, just not pre-order electronic devices trusting 8) .

Speaking of WM5 will it be possible to voice dial via bluetooth if the phone is locked?

i just can't decide if i want this or the k-jam. i love them both and they share very similar specifications. i've never had a ppc fone before, but i think i would like the bigger screen. i sync my videos from MCE and watch them at the gym, i think i would enjoy the bigger screen
