<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.create-ringtone.com/overview/' target='_blank'>http://www.create-ringtone.com/overview/</a><br /><br /></div><i>"Create-Ringtone is designed for you to easily create and send customized Free Ringtones to your mobile phone. With Create-Ringtone, you make Ringtones from any digital audio file, including MP3, WAV, WMA and OGG files. The Ringtones you create are sent to your WAV and/or MP3 format supported mobile phone and set as your Ringtone. Using Create-Ringtone you open your favorite song (in MP3, WMA, OGG or WAV format), select a section of the song to make as your Ringtone, and transfer it to your mobile phone as a Ringtone."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Temporale-20051004-CreateRingtone.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />CreateRingtone looks like an easy to use ringtone and wallpaper creator. However, it requires you to send your creations out over the air-waves in order to update your phone. It's so easy for us Smartphone users to just copy and paste these things onto our phone, that I can't see why I would want to do it any other way. I wish applications like this had a way to save a local copy so those of us that know better, can do it our way. There is a 15 day trial version, or you can purchase a copy of CreateRingtone for $19.95 from the developers website.<br /><br /><b>Update:</b> I just received an email from Scott over at CreateRingtone. He wanted to clarify that CreateRingtone supports transferring content over Bluetooth, Infrared, Wired Connection, or WAP. I'm not a big fan of using WAP to transfer content, so I'm happy to hear that there are other options. Thanks Scott. :)

Hey, Mike? You'll never guess what I'm digitizing at this exact moment, mostly for this purpose!

Edit: I suppose any Canadian born before the mid-late 80s can give this one a whirl.

A Celine Dion song?

Late 80's? Nah, can't be her. Besides, most good Canadians wouldn't touch her stuff with a 10 foot ethernet cable. ;) In fact, we're all very happy that Vegas has opened their arms and welcomed Celine in.

My guess would be Rush. :rock on dude!:

Later than Rush, and much more rare. Hardly ever heard outside Canada. And released in the early 90s.

Would it be possible for one of the mods to split this thread? I can see this getting way off topic.

If anyone still wants to play along that is.

And the ringtone(s) that will eventually be (have to re-digitize some time in the near future - this copy has too much bass) are excrutiatingly unique!

So that wouldn't be Platinum Blonde or anything...

Early 90's release... Not the Barenaked Ladies yellow album, although that didn't make it out of Canada, they are well known now.

Hrm... Have any clues ?

Oh, and the artist is quite popular internationally; the stuff I'm digitizing was rarely heard outside of Canada.

Alright, I'm stumped. Who?

Alanis!

Remember when she was Too Hot?

If that isn't a unique ringtone, I don't know what is.

Ah, yes. Alanis. Should have known. I've never been that good at Trivia. :)

I was also going to throw out Ottawa and You Can't Do That On Television as hints. Would those have helped?

That would have totally given it away - a little too obvious. 8)
