<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://tinyurl.com/e34ba' target='_blank'>http://tinyurl.com/e34ba</a><br /><br /></div>HTC Tornado has passed the FCC tests. The version that was tested by the FCC had the WiFi module also, which is really good news. :) And another thing that I found out by reading through the documents is that this Smartphone will most likely be branded as model "ST22A". It is not known who the vendor is but I am guessing Audiovox. The tests related information can be accessed by visiting the FCC <a href="https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/cf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm">search page,</a> <i>NM8</i> is the grantee code and <i>TND</i> is the product code. Or you can click on <a href="http://tinyurl.com/e34ba">this link</a> for one of the four test results page. If you are headed over to the FCC site to look at the user manual or the photos, don't bother. HTC has requested <a href="https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/forms/blobs/retrieve.cgi?attachment_id=573818&amp;native_or_pdf=pdf">confidentiality</a> on those documents till September 30th 2005. :? Wonder what will happen by September 30th?<br /><br /> <img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Kris-Aug05-ST22A.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/>

Was weighing between or the new Typhoon PPC which according to MadMonkeyBoy, should be available in the next two weeks. I think I'm going this route and sticking with the Smartphone.

Not only did you read it, but if you look closely at the image, you can see the WiFi logo to the left of the Bluetooth logo in the center of the image.

Hey Mike, took your hint, updated the image. This one shows the WiFi logo better. You can also see the model has been marked ST22A.

judging by every HTC device that I know of up until now....I'd guess no.

Well, HTC has done some 3.5 jacks, but they tend to be on Pocket PC's and larger devices. ;)

Most phones that I have had (Smartphone or otherwise) have used the 2.5 jack. I would expect this to stay the same. Just pick up a little convertor from your local electronics shop.

The russian version of Mobile-Review.com has posted a review of HTC Tornado ( http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/review/htc-tornado.shtml ) which can be quite easily traslated to nearly readable english with babelfish. ( http://babel.altavista.com/ )

They propably post the same review in english in a couple of days but who likes to wait?! :D
