<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.markab.it/meter/html/login_eng.asp' target='_blank'>http://www.markab.it/meter/html/login_eng.asp</a><br /><br /></div>We all know that Smartphones grow stale without mobile data access. ;) As such, we need to make sure that we are getting the best network speeds possible. So lets do a little test and see who's got the best mobile connection speeds. From your mobile device, follow this <a href="http://www.markab.it/meter/html/login_eng.asp">link</a> and click the Fast Access link to have your mobile connection tested. Once you've taken the test, come back here and let us know who your carrier is and what speed you're getting. I'll go first. ;) I'm on Fido and I'm getting an amazing 26.7kbps. 8O

Went outside with a full 4 bars connection and got 160.3 kbps. Can that be right? 8O

I tested three times, as a single test is not a good indicator:

21.6
29.1
24.7

So my average is 25kbps on T-Mobile USA.

I got 160.3 using the "WAP Network" setting on my MPX-220 with Cingular service. This doesn't seem correct.

Another speed test page I use that seems to be more realistic:

http://text.dslreports.com/mspeed

When I click the "50K" test link, I typically get 40 kbps as a result.

Got a measly 20Kbps and 22Kbps. :-(

On T-Mobile USA.

For those of you getting 160.3 clear your browsers cache. You have to clear the cache every time you want to run the test. Or use http://text.dslreports.com/mspeed

Using the new link posted, I'm getting a result of 38kbps. While that's better, it's still a long way from fast. ;)

Using www.2wire.com's speed meter, I tested at 582.9 kbps. I use Verizon EV-DO service, and have seen it as high as 760 kbps. In fact, I'm using my phone's EV-DO right now to connect my laptop at 467.9 kbps. 8O
