SMT5600 as a bluetooth GPRS modem?

I have a nice, shiny, new Audiovox SMT5600 on Rogers. Is there a simple way to use it as a bluetooth modem for an iPaq (or other unit larger than the SMT5600)? I have a T68i that I was using that way already, but I kinda want to keep my setup down to less than three devices especially as the SMT5600 would seem to surpass the T68 in every way.

I was using a T68 a while back. There's no comparison.

It's actually pretty easy to setup. The first thing you have to do is get your phone working on Rogers network. Setup all the data/GPRS settings so you can use PIE without problems.

Once you've done that, set the phones Bluetooth to discoverable, then from your iPAQ, launch the Bluetooth manager, and look for devices in range. It should find your phone without any problems. Pair the 2 devices, and it will then display the available services. After this, it's a little foggy, I haven't been down this road in a while. It might be asking you for a dialing string. If so, just use: *99# I think that's everything. Give it a try and let me know if I missed anything. :D

Take a look at the Geekzone BT (http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=449) guides. :-) They don't have one for a Smartphone and iPaq. Instead they are using a regular BT phone as reference. Which is not bad. Most of the config is on the Pocket PC. On the Smartphone all you have to do as Mike mentioned is set the BT to discoverable and make sure that GPRS/Internet is configured.

And I believe Cingular users require Modem connection string to be specified.

Actually, this phone is an unlocked Cingular model but I have it on Rogers. You're excused this time ;)

And checking out my GPRS usage, I've used over 2MB in less than 12 hours, on their 2MB/month plan. This baby's gonna be costing me some money! :worried:
