I am finally getting away from Nextel and getting the Audiovox 5600 Smartphone on Cingular. This will be my first phone with Bluetooth.

1. What universal setups do they have for your car?

2. What is the best ear piece available? I would like something that doesn't look so Star Trekky, I just got used to the frigin one with the wire hooked up.

I just found this site today, and am going to run searches before I ask anymore questions on the phone. This seems like a good site so far.

There are lots of Universal car mounts. I would check out your local car accessory shop.

As for Bluetooth headsets, there are so many to pick from, it's too hard to say which one is best. Some mount in your ear - like an ear phones, while others hang off your ear like headphones. It all depends on your style and how much you want to spend. There are a lot of different threads around here of people comparing their headsets.

Almost all BT Car setups will work with the phone. Thus the beauty of Bluetooth. I would like to get the Parrot CK-3100 (I thing thats the number. It's a BT Handsfree system and also has GPS built in to use with Mapopolis or other GPS apps. Look for them on ebay for the best price.

Plenty of BT earpieces out there. I'm currently using a BlueSpoon AX. The sound is pretty good and I think it's VERY comfortable as it doesnt rest ON your ear but IN IT.

Well I just so happen to be selling a Jabra 250 right here! (http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8704)

I like the Jabra BT headsets. This is one of 3 I have.

I would not leap to that conclusion. My Jeep built in one, made by Johnson Controls and marketed as UConnect does not work with either my stock SMT5600 or MPX220. (The MPX220, with an Korean ROM flashed on it does work). The car set works fine with T610s and Razrs incidentally. There are numerous reports of WM Smartphones not working with car handsfree installations. The Parrot models are the few that seem to.

My buddy has a Motorola unit in his 350Z that I am going to check to see if my phone works with. I want to try it out before I buy it, which is what scares me about ebay.

Now I need to find some headsets to try out.
